Calorieën tellen

We all know that it is better to avoid certain foods as much as possible. Think of foods with trans fats, processed sugars ... all ingredients that cause the calorie counter to skyrocket.

One counts calories to lose weight, the other to gain weight. The principle seems simple: eat less than you burn, then you lose weight, otherwise you gain weight. This is partly true, but an oversimplification of the whole thing. We'd like to explain this to you in detail.

Calorie, what?

Have you ever thought about what exactly a calorie is? Well, a calorie is the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree Celsius. So it is a measure to indicate the amount of energy.

The body gets this energy from nutrients and sends it to the organs so that they continue to function. In other words, it is our body's fuel.

One calorie is not the other!

There are calories in everything you eat and drink (except water) that we can divide in terms of quality: good, bad and very bad calories.

  • Good: vegetables, fruits, oatmeal, nuts, seeds, whole grain products....
  • Bad: soft drinks, candy...
  • Very bad: products with trans fats, pre-packaged meals....

So a healthy lifestyle is not just about how many calories you eat, but what you eat.

Did you know that 50 g of dried fruit is good for 180 calories? That's quite a lot you might think, but dried fruits are packed with vitamins, fiber and antioxidants. So leaving these aside is not a good idea!

    Our advice

Go for healthy and balanced food that are naturally rich in healthy nutrients (fiber, vitamins, minerals...). Think of nuts, seeds, vegetables, whole grain products, fruits, etc.

Our snacks (100% natural, without additives and strictly selected) therefore fit perfectly within your healthy lifestyle. Snack them!
