Our selection criteria

As an enthusiastic (endurance) athlete and with a passion for healthy nutrition, Kevin noticed, in 2017, that a lot of so-called “healthier” snacks still contained too many sugars, fats or other additives. JustBite was born from that frustration.

Searching for pure ingredients

We look for pure, 100% natural ingredients..

That’s why we scrutinise every single ingredient and see if it’s on our list of “bad ingredients”. At JustBite, you won’t find any trans-fats, chemical additives such as flavouring, colouring or thickening agents, etc. We also refuse snacks with dairy and non-sustainable palm oil.

Balanced proportions

After the ingredient check, we look at the ratio between carbs, proteins, fats and fibre. That’s where our nutritional knowledge plays a big role!

An example: A snack that’s high in carbs can sometimes pass our test if it also contains sufficient fibre, which causes it to release its energy slower.

Of course, the selection process is a lot more complicated than that. We promise you one thing, though: we’ll go the extra mile to select healthy snacks for you.

The equally important taste test!

Our snacks are also simply delicious! Once per month, our snack review panel reviews every snack that passed our tests. Does it taste good? Then it gets extra points.

The result: JustBite approved (or not)

More than 250 selected snacks of over 60 brands have received the JustBite seal of approval. That means that only a quarter of the more than one thousand snacks we’ve reviewed have passed our tests.
