JustBite wants a better world for everyone. That’s why we keep our ecological footprint as small as possible.

Long story short

We also do our part for a more sustainable society. We support Sustainable Development Goals 2, 12 and 13.

• Our snacks are plant-based, with the exception of one delicious bar made from sustainable cricket flour

• We reduce exhaust gases by delivering once per month
• We take action against food wastage

Plant-based snacks, good for you and good for nature

The earth is being pushed to its limit. That needs to change: everyone needs to start eating more plant-based food. 

Approximately 25% of all greenhouse gases is produced by the food industry; 15% by just the production of meat and dairy. Deforestation, too - because agriculture needs a lot of space - and water usage make the food industry one of the most polluting and greedy sectors in the world. That has to change - for mankind, animals and the planet.

And not only the planet will benefit from a shift to plant-based food. Eating more grains, legumes, vegetables, fruit, seeds and nuts reduces the risk of obesity, cardiovascular diseases and other lifestyle diseases.

That’s why all our healthier snacks are 100% plant-based - with the exception of KRIKET, a delicious bar made with sustainable cricket flour, which is a great alternative source of protein.

Sustainable and environment-friendly packaging

All our own packaging and gift boxes are FSC-certified. That means they’re made of cardboard from sustainably managed forests or recycled material.

Our snack suppliers also package their snacks sustainably in thin, pure films that are 100% recyclable. This keeps products fresh for longer, because when you use bio-based packaging, your products’ shelf-life is much shorter. Because JustBite wants to stop food wastage - and because  - that type of packaging is the best option at this moment.

Ecological delivery

JustBite has partnered with bpost and DPD. They offer the best logistical solution, because they bundle their packages for daily deliveries.

We deliver our snack boxes once per month, instead of every one or two weeks. Of course, we’ll deliver our gift boxes on the agreed upon date. However, we’d like to ask you to deliver to one address, such as your office, as much as possible.

Say “no” to food wastage

We manage our stock as well as possible. That’s one way to prevent food wastage. And when products do approach their best-before-dates, we donate them to local food banks.

That’s also why we promote freeze-dried fruit in our snack boxes: they have longer shelf-lives and preserve 95% of their nutritional value. Fresh fruit spoils very quickly, which is why it often ends up in our garbage - at the office, too. 

With our FSC-certified boxes and the sustainable snack packaging our suppliers use, we reduce the possibility of food wastage.
